Root Canal therapy is a procedure for treating bacterial infection and inflammation inside a tooth. The tissues within the pulp chamber of the tooth and canals get infected by bacteria when the tooth decay is usually not treated in a timely manner. Presence of surgical microscope, Dental Lasers and experienced endodontist make a perfect recipe to resolve the root canal problems at Avance Dental Care.
The word Endodontist means (“Endo” – Inside; “Dontist” - dentist) After graduating from dental school, Endodontist complete additional 3 years of rigorous training in Root Canal Procedures. Patients should prefer Endodontist for the Root Canal Treatment.
The main objective of Root Canal Treatment is to remove all the infected and diseased tissues lying within the pulp chamber of the tooth and Root Canals. The Endodontist primarily will administer a small dose of local anesthesia. Then through the biting surface of the tooth, the Endodontist makes a small access hole (Under Microscope) to remove the infected and diseased tissues. Next, the Root Canal will be thoroughly cleaned and repeatedly flushed with Antibacterial liquids. Rubber like Bio-Compatible material, Gutta-Percha mixed with adhesive cement is then condensed into clean, Bacteria free Root Canals.
After Root Canal Procedure it is absolutely normal to experience mild soreness and discomfort for next few days. Any discomfort experienced can be managed by pain killers as prescribed by your Endodontist. Please read the Postoperative Instruction after Root Canal Treatment for more details.
